Meet Your Therapist
Paige Carter, MSW Intern
*IMMEDIATE AVAILABILITY*
Hello! My name is Paige, and I am completing my master’s in social work at Florida State University. I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology from California State University, Fullerton. I have been trained/informed in many modalities that include Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic work, Compassionate Inquiry, and EMDR (in progress) to support a mind-body connection to release unwanted patterns/beliefs. Furthermore, I draw inspiration from Jungian psychology, which explores the relationship between the conscious and unconscious mind, and Liberation psychology, guided by principles emphasizing social justice, equity, and human dignity.
I am passionate about working with individuals who have trauma, sexual abuse survivors, depression, chronic illness, persons in recovery, and those who are neurodivergent. As a survivor, my personal healing journey has involved a combination of mind-body-spirit therapies, and my life has never been the same. My experience and training have given me greater insight into cultivating a space where all parts of ourselves are welcomed and respected. I prioritize providing an environment that promotes safety, collaboration, trustworthiness, and empowerment.
Outside the counseling room, I find joy in traveling, being out in nature, pickleball, reading, and long walks with my dog. I believe my various passions and life experiences in and outside the therapy space have dictated the direction of my life. I feel it is my calling and life’s purpose to work with those wounded by trauma. Through various trainings and professional experience, I hope to help clients move from surviving to thriving.
“To honor our grief, to grant it space and time in our frantic world, is to fulfill a covenant with soul—to welcome all that is, thereby granting room for our most authentic life.” – Francis Weller.
